FS-1 Outer and inner surface cold-rolled (unmachined) with inner chamfer.Housing tolerance H8, gives the bushing tol. H11 after mounting. A centered grease-hole is standard
FS-2 Outer surface grinded and inner surface cold rolled.Housing tolerance H8. The grinded surface can be used for centering and positioning the bushing or as bushing surface.
FS-3 Outer surface cold rolled and inner surface machined (for finer tolerances) Housing tolerance H8, gives the bushing tol. H10 after mounting
FS-4 Outer surface grinded and inner surface machined (for max. precission) Housing tolerance H6, gives the bushing tol. H9 after mounting
Items acc. To drawing and special sizes (can be produced on request)
Material
Area of use
SB springsteel bushing is well suited for all applications where there is really heavy loads, abrasion (heavy, grinding movements) or shock-stress (where impact-resistance is needed).
Examples of areas of use are in the following applications:
Chemical analysis, material (nom. values)
* Regarding temperature, the given temperature 300℃is for unchanged conditions and bushing abilities
Lubrication, grease grooves and grease holes
SB springsteel bushings are normally used in heavy load applications, without lubrication, or where lubrication is not needed. If however noise reduction or greasing is wanted, a lubricant with e.g. graphite, can give a reducted noise and protection against impurities. In general, lubrication and higher precision on the bushing helps to improve the lifespan of the bushing.
SB sprinsteel bushing can be manufactured with grease grooves on the outside as well as on the inside. Standard-grooves are plain vertical groove, circular groove or X-shaped groove with centered grease hole. Grease hole is standard on all types.
The slit
The tooth-shaped slit in combination with the spring-steel abilities increases the contact pressure between the bore and the bushing. The tooth-shaped form of the slit is also designed to eliminate the importance of the placing of the slit.
Assembly / SB Springsteel bushing
Installing a SB Springsteel-bushing is best done by using a hydraulic press. In order not to damage the bushing or the bore, a hammer and a soft mandrel can also be used as an alternative to install. Due to the tooth shaped slit, the bushing is easier to mount than a so called solid bushing (without slit). The tolerances don’t have to be quite as narrow as of a solid bushing.
SB Springsteel-bushing are a bit oversized before assembly (0,5-1,0 mm depending on size). The result is that You get an expanding effect, which can be adjusted to the sizing of the House bore.
The expanding effect, in combination with the shape of the slit, eliminates the bushing play and increases the contact pressure.
